University of Indianapolis senior Marius Bornkessel and freshman Stefanie Haholiades have been named the PNC Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Athletes of the Week in men's and women's swimming and diving, it was announced by the league office Tuesday.

Bornkessel picked up a win and a runner-up finish over the weekend against Grand Valley State. He touched first in the 50 freestyle in a time of 21.42 and swam a second-place time of 46.45 in the 100 free. The Greyhounds kept pace with regional powerhouse GVSU but couldn't quite overcome the Lakers, falling 134-109.

This is the first career weekly award for the Bochum, Germany, native and the second male Hound chosen this season as Vitor Botana was selected Oct. 20.
