University of Indianapolis freshman Vitor Botana and Lewis University senior Shelby Leonard have been named the PNC Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Athletes of the Week in men's and women's swimming and diving, it was announced by the league office Tuesday.

Botana competed at the 12th annual three-day House of Champions meet hosted by IUPUI, breaking three records and recording as many first-place finishes. He kicked off the dominant performance on Friday with a 4:25.19 win in the 500 freestyle, breaking a school and meet record. He was also part of a second-place 400 medley relay team. On Saturday, the freshman picked up his second individual top finish in the 200 free (1:38.24) before closing the weekend with another win and school record, this time in the 1650 free (15:23.90).

This is the second weekly honor this season and in the São Paulo, Brazil, native's career as he was selected for the first time on Oct. 20.
