University of Indianapolis freshman Vitor Botana and Lewis University senior Shelby Leonard have been named the PNC Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Athletes of the Week in men's and women's swimming and diving, it was announced by the league office Tuesday.

Leonard helped Lewis break three school records on Friday at the House of Champions. In the 200 free relay, the group broke a record with a time of 1:36.39, and the senior's leg of 23.85 set a new school record for the 50 free. She was on another record-breaking relay team, this time finishing 3:51.27 in the 400 medley relay. On the second day of the meet, Leonard broke the school record for the 100 butterfly…twice – first during the prelims in 57.22 and then again during the finals, touching in at 56.86. To close the meet on Sunday, Leonard added yet another individual school record in the 200 backstroke (2:02.19) before joining the record-breaking 400 free relay squad that recorded a 3:30.38 mark. Additionally, seven of her performances were B cuts.

The product of Sarasota, Fla., earns her first career weekly selection and becomes the first Flyer female chosen since Cindy Jezuit on Dec. 20, 2013.
