Lewis University senior forward Mariyah Brawner-Henley has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in women's basketball, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Brawner-Henley averaged 18.5 points on 15-of-33 (45.5%) shooting, 12.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals to lead No. 7 Lewis to two league road wins.

The senior opened her dominant two-game performance in the team's 68-55 win at Saint Joseph's on Thursday, scoring 20 points (8-18, 44.4%) and pulling down 13 rebounds for her first double-double of the week. In 29 minutes on the court, Brawner-Henley also added two blocks as well as two steals and as many assists and was 4-for-7 from the foul line.

On Saturday in a 67-51 victory at Indianapolis, the forward netted 17 points on 7-of-15 shooting (46.7%) while adding 12 more rebounds and went 3-for-5 (60.0%) on free throws. The effort was her second double-double of the week to make it six on the season so far.

Additionally against UIndy, the six-footer drained her 1,500th (1,502) career point and grabbed her 1,000th (1,008) career rebound, which moves her ever closer to the school rebound record set by Julie Fruendt (1,043) from 1981-85.

The Skokie, Ill., native earns her first weekly honor of the season and sixth of her career. The last Flyer to be recognized was teammate Jamie Johnson on Nov. 16.
