Drury University sophomore Alex Reinbrecht and junior Wen Xu have been named the PNC Great Lakes Valley Conference Athletes of the Week in men's and women's swimming and diving, it was announced by the league office Tuesday.

Reinbrecht helped Drury place fourth of six teams at the Iowa Hawkeye Invitational Dec. 4-6, beating out both Division I University of North Dakota and University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He was part of a 4th-place 800 free relay finish that recorded a 6:39.72. He also swam two individual top-10 races, including the 500 freestyle (4:26.82 – 8th) on Day 1 and the 1650 free (15:31.76 – 5th) on Day 3. Additionally, the sophomore swam a 1:39.89 200 free.

This is the first career weekly honor for the West Dundee, Ill., native, and he is the second male Panther chosen this season with the first selection going to Daniel Rzadkowski on Nov. 10.
