Lewis University senior sprinter Andre Barnes and senior jumper Isaac Jean-Paul have been respectively named the first Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week of the 2015-16 season.  The pair of Flyers was also tabbed as the league’s honorees to start the 2014-15 campaign as well.

Jean-Paul cleared an NCAA provisional height of 7’-0 1/4” in the high jump at the GVSU Holiday Opener, good for a first-place result.  The Gurnee, Illinois, native’s mark is currently tops among Division II jumpers.

The award marks Jean-Paul’s fifth in the indoor season as he was honored on four occasions last season (Dec. 11, 2014, Jan. 22-27, Feb. 5, 2015).  He is the first Flyer to be honored since Adam Barr on Feb. 15, 2015.
