McKendree University freshman sprinter DeMontez McCray and Lewis University sophomore multi-event specialist Bryce Holesinger have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Wednesday. 

Holesinger won the heptathlon at the Nebraska-Kearney Pre-Holiday multi-event meet last week. His NCAA provisional-qualifying score of 4,985 broke the previous school record of 4,823 points, and currently sits atop the GLVC rankings and third in NCAA Division II.

The Fulton, Illinois native earns his first career award and marks the second straight Flyer to win the Field Athlete of the Week award after Isaac Jean-Paul was recognized last week.
