University of Southern Indiana sophomore forward Morgan Dahlstrom has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in women's basketball, it was announced by the league office Monday.
Dahlstrom averaged 15.5 points on 12-of-18 shooting (.667), 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists per game and 1.5 blocks per game to help lead USI to a pair of Midwest Region wins at the Bellarmine Classic this weekend. She also added a 5.0 assist to turnover ratio.
The sophomore began the week with a career-high 16 points to go along with five rebounds, two assists and two blocks in the Screaming Eagles' 63-43 win over Northern Michigan on Saturday. She went 6-of-8 (.750) from the floor and 4-of-6 (.667) from the free throw line.
The forward returned to the court the following day to finish with a game-high tying 15 points and seven rebounds in USI's 66-48 win over Ferris State. She also dished out a career-high three assists and tallied a block and a steal as the Eagles won their seventh consecutive game. Additionally, Dahlstrom went 6-of-10 (.600) from the field and shot .500 (3-of-6) from the foul line.
The Grayslake, Ill., native earns her first career weekly honor and is the first Eagle selected since Anna Hackert earned the final honor of 2014-15 on February 23, 2015.
