University of Wisconsin-Parkside senior guard Andy Mazurczak has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in men's basketball, it was announced by the league office Monday.
Mazurczak finished the week averaging 25.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game in helping the Rangers defeat a pair of GLVC interdivisional foes to extend their win streak to six games.
The Norridge, Illinois native tallied 27 points in the squad's 89-69 win of Missouri S&T on Thursday, which gave the Miners their first GLVC loss of the season. Mazurczak hit 10-of-11 (.909) shots from the floor in that game, while adding nine rebounds, four assists and a steal. Two days later against Drury, a matchup billed as part of the NCAA Division II National Showcase on American Sports Network, Mazurczak had 24 points on 9-of-15 (.600) shooting, while grabbing eight boards and dishing four assists in the Rangers' 84-67 win.
For the week, Mazurczak shot 73.1 percent from the field (19-for-26) with an assist-to-turnover ratio of 2.7.
Mazurczak earns his second career weekly selection as he was first honored earlier this season on Nov. 23, 2015.
