The University of Indianapolis’ Karla Mast (New Buffalo, Mich.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. The senior guard led the Greyhounds to a pair of victories in the GLVC/GLIAC Challenge hosted by UIndy over the weekend.

Mast, in the two contests, averaged 25 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and one steal per game. She shot 53.6 percent from the field and was 15-for-19 from the free throw line, helping the Greyhounds to an 82-67 win over Findlay on Friday and a 65-62 win over Ashland on Saturday.

In the victory against Findlay, Mast tied a career-high with 25 points on 8-for-13 (.615) shooting from the field. She was 5-for-9 (.556) from behind the three-point line and chipped in three rebounds, three assists and a steal.
 
She returned against Ashland to again match her career-high with 25 points. Mast was 7-for-15 (.467) from the field and nailed 11 of 14 free throw attempts. She also added six rebounds, two assists and a steal.
 
UIndy (2-0) will host Oakland City on Wednesday in the third of a season-opening five-game homestand.
 
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Ashley Lewallen, Drury’s Becky Flippin, Lewis’ Lauren Martens, Quincy’s Lindsey Stellflue, Rockhurst’s Amy Hake, SIU Edwardsville’s Amber Shelton, Southern Indiana’s Carly Clendenen and UW-Parkside’s Kayla Ming.
