Rockhurst University senior center Dominique Washington has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in men's basketball, it was announced by the league office Monday.
Washington led the Hawks to a pair of GLVC road wins last week, averaging 22.0 points on 17-of-33 (.515) shooting and 9.5 rebounds per game.
In Thursday's 78-68 win at Illinois Springfield, Washington tallied 19 points on 7-of-11 (.636) shooting and eight rebounds, and then followed with 25 points on 10-of-22 (.455) shooting with a season-high 11 rebounds in an 86-80 overtime win at McKendree on Saturday.
The Kansas City, Missouri native earns his first career weekly honor and is the first Hawk to be recognized by the league since Brandon McCann on Nov. 18, 2013.
