University of Indianapolis sophomore distance runner Kieran Casey and Lewis University senior multi-event specialist Amber Cook have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Wednesday.

Cook won the high jump with an NCAA provisional height and personal best effort of 5 feet, 7.25 inches to help the 11th-ranked Flyers to a win at the Illiana Invitational this past Friday.  The mark is the best in the GLVC thus far and fifth nationally.  Cook then came back and jumped 39'-3.85" in the triple jump to finish second in the event.  That jump was just one centimeter off her best jump of year, which currently ranks fourth nationally.

The Grayslake, Illinois native earns her second career award as she was first honored nearly one year ago on Jan. 22, 2015.  The last Flyer to win the Field Athlete of the Week award was Cierra Pulliam on Dec. 9, 2015.
