University of Southern Indiana senior distance runner Johnnie Guy and Saint Joseph's College sophomore jumper Phil Thompson have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Wednesday. 

Thompson won the triple jump and finished fifth in the long jump this past Friday at the Northwest Ohio Invitational, hosted by the University of Findlay.  He jumped a NCAA Provisional mark of 47 feet, 7.75 inches in the triple jump, and recorded a his fifth-place finish in long jump with a mark of 22'-5.75".

The Dolton, Illinois native earns his first career award and marks the first time a Puma has won Field Athlete of the Week since Joe Tooks on Jan. 16, 2013.
