Lewis University senior sprinter Chantel Stennis and freshman jumper Cierra Pulliam have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Tuesday.
At last weekend's NAIA vs. NCAA Challenge at Olivet Nazarene, Pulliam won the triple jump with a leap of 40'-4.25", which was three centimeters better than teammate Amber Cook for the win. Her distance broke her own school record set in December and currently sits atop the chart in NCAA Division II.
This is the Plainfield, Illinois native's second weekly award of her career as she was also honored back on Dec. 9, 2015.
