Lewis University senior sprinter Chantel Stennis and freshman jumper Cierra Pulliam have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Tuesday.
At last weekend's NAIA vs. NCAA Challenge at Olivet Nazarene, Stennis won the 200 meters with a converted time of 24.20, which was more than a second faster than the runner-up finisher. Her time ranks first in both the GLVC and NCAA Division II.
The honor is the fourth GLVC weekly award for the Bolingbrook, Illinois native as she picked up three accolades last year on Dec. 11, 2014, and Jan. 15 and Feb. 15, 2015.
