University of Wisconsin-Parkside junior distance runner Moriah Palmer and Bellarmine University sophomore pole vaulter Bridgette Mangold have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Tuesday.

At UW-Parkside's Green & White Invitational last Saturday, Palmer won a pair of events, including a provisional qualifying performance in the mile.  Her effort of four minutes, 55.86 seconds, which converts to 4:52.96, was good enough for a 26-second victory over teammate Amanda Johnson and currently the fourth fastest time in NCAA Division II this season.  Palmer's second victory was in the 800-meter run, completing the four-lap race in 2:17.83.

This is the Machesney Park, Illinois native's second career weekly honor as her first accolade came the last time a Ranger was honored on Jan. 22, 2015.
