The University of Indianapolis’ DeAndre Brock (Indianapolis, Ind.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. The senior guard led the Greyhounds to wins at Hillsdale and Saginaw Valley State last week.
In the two contests, Brock averaged 23 points, four rebounds and three assists per game.
UIndy topped Hillsdale, 78-76, on Monday behind Brock’s game-high 24 points. He nailed a three-pointer with under two minutes to play to give the Greyhounds their first lead since the early going. In the come-from-behind victory, Brock was 8-for-17 (.471) from the field and finished with five assists, two rebounds and a steal.
Brock returned on Wednesday in UIndy’s 68-65 overtime win at Saginaw Valley State to post a game-high 22 points. He converted a pair of free throws with ten seconds left in overtime to lead the Greyhounds to the victory. Brock added six rebounds and an assist in the contest.
On the year, Brock has led the Greyhounds in scoring in each of their three wins. He is averaging 20.7 points and four rebounds per game.
UIndy (3-0) will open the conference season against visiting Missouri-St. Louis and Missouri-Rolla this weekend.
