University of Southern Indiana senior distance runner Johnnie Guy and McKendree University sophomore jumper Alex McCrite have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Tuesday.   

McCrite had a record day this past weekend at the Principia Relays, breaking the school record in the high jump with a personal best of 2.05 meters. His height, which hit a NCAA provisional standard and was a meet and facility record, is currently second in the GLVC this season and 20th overall in the Division II.

The Tamms, Illinois native earns his first career honor and gives McKendree its first GLVC Field Athlete of the Week in program history.
