Lewis University senior forward Mariyah Brawner-Henley has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in women's basketball, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Brawner-Henley averaged 22.5 points, 13.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.5 blocks in two GLVC victories last week, shooting 64.5% (20-of-31) from the field and 55.6% (5-of-9) from the foul line.

On Thursday she had her best stats output, scoring 29 points and grabbing 14 rebounds in the Flyers 81-78 win over Rockhurst. The Hawks tied the game with less than a minute left, and the senior responded with a go-ahead bucket to help in the win and add to her already game-high point total. Brawner-Henley shot 13-of-21 (61.9%) from the field and finished 3-of-6 (50%) free throws, adding four assists and one block.

Against William Jewell on Saturday, the forward hauled in 12 boards and registered 16 points while blocking two shots in the 65-54 win over William Jewell for her second double-double of the weekend and 66th career, which is second all-time in NCAA history. She was also 7-of-10 (70.0%) shooting and made 2-of-3 (66.7%) foul shots. The win marked a new Lewis record for consecutive GLVC wins at 17 and was the 100th Flyer victory since Brawner-Henley joined the team in 2012-13 as a freshman.

This is the Skokie, Ill., native's third weekly honor this season and eighth career selection.
