McKendree University freshman sprinter DeMontez McCray and University of Indianapolis senior jumper Josh Bass have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Wednesday. 
 
Bass won the long jump in dramatic fashion at the Hillsdale Wide Track Classic contested on the campus of Hillsdale College.  On his last jump in the competition, Bass jumped an NCAA provisional mark of 7.38 meters, which set a new facility record.  Bass is currently ranked first among GLVC jumpers in the event and just outside the top 10 nationally.

The Springfield, Ohio native earns his third career honor, having been recognized on Feb. 5, 2014 and Jan. 30, 2013.
