University of Wisconsin-Parkside senior guard Andy Mazurczak has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in men's basketball, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Mazurczak finished the week averaging 33.0 points on 23-of-38 (.605) shooting, as well as 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game, helping the GLVC East Division co-leading Rangers (20-3, 13-2 GLVC) collect a pair of road victories against GLVC West co-leaders.

The Norridge, Illinois native piled on a career-high 40 points in Thursday's 102-96 overtime win at Truman State, with 32 coming in either the second half or overtime. Mazurczak additionally scored 21 consecutive points for Parkside stretching from the final five minutes into overtime, turning a nine-point deficit into a three-point lead. He shot 16-of-26 (.615) from the field while also securing six rebounds and five assists. The game was a milestone for Mazurczak, who earned his 88th win in a Ranger uniform, surpassing Stevie King (1974-78) as the winningest player in program history.

Two days later in a 108-107 overtime thriller against Quincy, Mazurczak piled on 26 points on 7-of-12 (.583) shooting including the game-winning basket with 0.2 seconds left in overtime as the Rangers rallied from a 14-point deficit to notch their fourth consecutive 20-win campaign.  He was also credited with nine rebounds, four assists and a steal in the victory.

Mazurczak earns his third career weekly selection, all of which have come this season.  He was first honored on Nov. 23, 2015, and then again on Jan. 11, 2016.
