Lewis University senior forward Mariyah Brawner-Henley has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in women's basketball, it was announced by the league office Monday. 

In two GLVC road wins, she averaged 25 points, 13.5 rebounds, and two assists along with 65.7% (23-of-35) shooting from the field and 61.5% (8-of-13) at the foul line.

On Thursday in a 68-62 road win at No. 20 Quincy, the senior scored 28 points and pulled in 15 rebounds while shooting 13-of-17 (.765) from the floor and added 2-of-4 (.500) free throws. Based on current Conference records, Brawner-Henley became the league's all-time leading career rebounder with 1,200 boards, a record that was previously held by Saint Joseph's College Sloan Haughey (1,187) from 1989-93. She also added two steals and as many assists.

In the 59-51 win at Truman State on Saturday, the forward moved into second position for scoring at Lewis with 1,873 career points. To her game's 26 points, she added 12 rebounds, two blocks and two assists. From the foul line she shot 6-of-9 (.667) and was 10-of-18 (.556) from the floor.

This honor is the second in a row for the Skokie, Ill., product and her league-best fourth of the season while ninth during her career.
