Lewis University senior sprinter Chantel Stennis and senior jumper Amber Cook have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the conference office Wednesday.
Cook won the high jump at the Chicagoland Championships last Friday with a new personal best clearance of 5'-7.75", which ranks first in the conference and sixth in Division II. Later that night in the triple jump, she won with a leap one centimeter under her season's best, 40'-2.50", which is currently fourth nationally.
The Grayslake, Illinois native earns her third career award as she was first honored on Jan. 22, 2015 and most recently on Jan. 20, 2016.
