Lewis University freshman guard Delaney Blaylock has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in men's basketball, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Blaylock averaged 21.5 points per game on 13-of-22 (.591) shooting last week as the Flyers picked up a pair of GLVC home victories over Indianapolis and Saint Joseph's.  The Lewis newcomer was also a threat from the perimeter and the free-throw line, going 7-of-12 (.583) from three-point land and 10-of-11 (.909) from the charity stripe.

His most impressive performance came in a 101-89 win over Indianapolis on Thursday, as he tied a career-high with 27 points, including four three-pointers, and five assists.  Blaylock netted 23 of his 27 points in the second half, including a perfect 4-for-4 from beyond the arc.  Lewis' 101 points in the game was the most by a Flyer team since 2009.

He added 16 points on 50 percent shooting in Saturday's 87-62 win against Saint Joseph's to give the Flyers their third-straight 20-win season for the first time since 2001-04.

For the season, Blaylock is averaging 11.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. In GLVC action, he is averaging 14.0 points and 6.9 boards per contest.

Blaylock earns his first career weekly selection and is the first Flyer to earn the award since Max Strus on Dec. 14, 2015.
