Saint Joseph's College redshirt-junior forward Kalea Parks has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in women's basketball, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Parks scored 62 points in two games last week, averaging 31 points on 27-of-45 (.600) shooting, 5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals. She also finished 53.8% (7-of-13) at the foul line.

In a 76-62 win at UW-Parkside Thursday evening, the redshirt-junior played all but one minute, scoring 30 points on 14-of-18 shooting, a 77.8% clip, while collecting four rebounds and one steal.

Against No. 6 Lewis, the forward outperformed herself two days later, tallying 32 points, grabbing six boards, dishing out an assist and adding two steals and a block. She also scored her first three-point field goal on her first attempt of the season and hit 5-of-7 (71.4%) free throws. Her efforts helped the Pumas come closer to ending the Flyers 20-game win streak than any other league team all season. She played every minute of the game as SJC came just shy of the upset in overtime.

Overall, it was Parks' second and third time scoring 30 or more points this season to tie her for the most in the league.

The Maywood, Ill., native earns her second weekly award this season and in her career, being first chosen November 30, 2015.
