Drury University junior Maximilian Hepp has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in the sport of men's tennis, the Conference announced Tuesday.

Hepp went 2-0 in both singles and doubles last week, helping Drury to a shutout win over Graceland, 9-0, and a 6-3 victory past Oklahoma Baptist.

On Friday, the junior defeated Graceland's Borja Perez and Gonzalo Munoz 8-1 at No. 1 doubles with partner Kay Bartmann before topping Perez at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-0. He followed those wins with two more on Sunday against OBU. Again at No. 1 doubles, Hepp paired with Bartmann to win 8-4 versus Daniel Aguilera and Luis Romero and followed that up with a 7-6, 6-2 defeat of Aguilera at No. 1 singles.

This is the Auenwald, Germany, native's fourth career weekly honor, as he was chosen twice in 2015 as the inaugural honoree Feb. 12 and then again as the season's final selection on April 14. His very first recognition came March 10, 2014.
