Maryville University junior designated player Nikki Taylor and senior pitcher Hannah Perryman were named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, in the sport of softball, the Conference office announced Monday.
Taylor hit .583 with three home runs over five games, including four GLVC contests, as Maryville went 5-1. Overall, she belted three home runs, drove in nine RBI and posted a 1.500 slugging percentage with a .706 on-base percentage.
Against Lincoln, Taylor posted an RBI single and drew two walks. In the first game against Lewis, she went 2-for-2 with a double, a homer and three RBI as the Saints won 6-2. In the second game against the Flyers, the junior smashed two homers and drove in four runs. Against UW-Parkside, Taylor doubled and scored to go along with two walks. In her final game of the week, she had an RBI single, stole one base and scored a run to complete a doubleheader sweep.
The St. Peters, Mo., native earns her first career weekly selection as she becomes the first ever Saint honored with the award.
