University of Missouri-St. Louis freshman Robert White has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in the sport of men's tennis, the Conference announced Tuesday.
White played just one match last week, but it was an important one, helping UMSL to an 8-1 regional win at Bellarmine Saturday. With the victory, the Tritons improved to 7-0 on the season.
The freshman teamed with Alberto Maza Martin at No. 2 doubles for an 8-2 win against Matthew Momper and Alex Swords before he defeated Lauren de Boeck at No. 4 singles. White improved his doubles record to 6-5 and his singles mark to 7-2.
This is the Hove, England, native's first career weekly honor, and he is the first Triton chosen since teammate Maza Martin won March 31, 2015.
