Drury University’s Caitlin Shouse (Greenfield, Mo.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. The sophomore forward helped the Panthers collect home wins over Harris-Stowe and third-ranked Washburn.
In Drury’s 93-63 win over Harris-Stowe on Tuesday, Shouse registered a double-double with 29 points and 12 rebounds. She finished 11-for-14 (.786) from the field and 7-for-8 (.875) from the free throw line while also distributing two assists and collecting one steal.
She was also instrumental in the Panthers’ upset of Washburn on Saturday. Drury defeated the visitors, 66-47, and Shouse posted 14 points and six rebounds. She was 4-for-7 (.571) from the field and nailed all six free-throw attempts. Shouse also had three assists, a block and steal.
For the week, she averaged 21.5 points, nine rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. She is averaging 10.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game on the year.
Drury (5-1, 1-1) is currently ranked 12th in the USA Today/ESPN/WBCA Division II Top 25 Poll. The Panthers have won three straight games and will return to action on December 18 against visiting Saginaw Valley State.
