Lewis University senior first baseman Joe Sparacio and Missouri S&T senior pitcher Keith Coulson have been respectively named the PNC Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week in the sport of baseball, the conference office announced Monday.

At the inaugural Midwest Region Crossover Showcase on Saturday, Coulson fired his second complete game shutout of the season, blanking Saint Joseph's 7-0 in non-conference action.  He allowed only five hits and a walk while striking out five in a 101-pitch effort.  The Pumas did not have more than one baserunner in any inning of the contest as Coulson improved to 3-1 on the season.

This is the St. Louis, Missouri native's second career weekly honor as he was also recognized with the season's first award on Feb. 22.
