The University of Southern Indiana’s Norman Plummer (Cincinnati, Ohio) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Plummer, a senior forward for the Eagles, guided his team to a convincing 87-49 win over Great Lakes Region-foe Tiffin University on Saturday.
Plummer netted a game-high 19 points in just 28 minutes of action, finishing 7-for-11 (.636) from the field and 5-for-8 (.625) from the free throw line. He also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds and had one assist.
On the year, Plummer is averaging 21.1 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. He has notched a double-double in four of the Eagles’ seven games on the year, while leading them in scoring six times. Plummer is also shooting 69.6 percent from the field which ranks him fourth in the league.
USI (5-2, 1-0) has won three straight games and will host Ferris State on Wednesday.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Kentucky Wesleyan’s T.J. Smith, Quincy’s Andre Muse and Saint Joseph’s Will Jones.
