The Great Lakes Valley Conference has named Rockhurst University senior Nick Arman its GLVC Men's Golf Player of the Month for March, it was announced Tuesday. Arman earned the honor following a vote from the league's men's golf coaches.
The St. Louis, Mo., native played in four rounds over the course of two tournaments last month and averaged 72.25 strokes.
On March 7-8, Arman scored an even-par 144 (75-69) at the Dave Falconer Classic to finish in a tie for 12th in a 118-golfer field, just six shots behind the medalist. Rockhurst was 15th of 21 teams, carding a 308-298=606 +30.
A week and a half later, Arman finished fourth at the Illinois Springfield Spring Invitational, turning in a 70-75 (145) +1 March 19-20 among 44 golfers. The Hawks also carded a fourth-place finish with a 597 (295-302) ahead of host UIS (599) and additional GLVC foe Quincy (623) that finished fifth and sixth, respectively.
This monthly honor is the first career selection for the senior, as he also becomes the first Hawk to ever be selected.
