University of Southern Indiana senior distance runner Johnnie Guy and Lewis University sophomore decathlete Bryce Holesinger have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced Wednesday by the conference office.

Guy won the 5,000 meters on Friday evening at the Washington University Invitational in 14 minutes, 16.62 seconds in windy and rainy conditions.  He closed the final 2,500 meters in 6:49 – a 13:38 pace – to win by 15 seconds.  His time sits atop the GLVC charts this season and is currently seventh in NCAA Division II.

This is the third weekly outdoor honor for the Palmyra, Indiana, native as he was also recognized on April 8, 2015 and April 27, 2014.
