University of Southern Indiana junior catcher Haley Hodges and University of Missouri-St. Louis senior pitcher Hannah Perryman were named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, in the sport of softball, the Conference office announced Monday.

Hodges helped power the Southern Indiana to a 3-1 weekend while setting a new single-season mark at USI. In the four GLVC contests against Lewis and the UW-Parkside, she hit .636 (7-11) with eight RBI, six runs, four doubles, and two home runs, while earning four walks and stealing a base. Hodges amassed a .733 on-base percentage, while slugging an impressive 1.545.

In the Screaming Eagles' doubleheader against Lewis, the junior opened the day going 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs, three RBI and three runs scored in a five-inning, 10-1 victory. In the second contest, she finished 1-for-1 with two RBI, a double and three walks to help in the 7-6 victory. On her two-run double in the sixth inning, Hodges broke the USI single-season record for RBI in a season with her 55th.

Against Parkside, Hodges went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, two RBI and a walk in the first game before wrapping up the weekend by scoring the winning run in an eight-inning 4-3 victory over the Rangers. She produced a 2-for-4 performance with an RBI, a double and two runs in game two. The catcher, who has already set the USI single-season record for RBI and tied the single-season record for home runs, is also on pace to break the Eagles' single-season records for runs and walks.

The Portage, Ind., native earns her second career weekly selection in as many weeks as she was chosen the April 4 honoree as well.
