University of Southern Indiana junior catcher Haley Hodges and University of Missouri-St. Louis senior pitcher Hannah Perryman were named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, in the sport of softball, the Conference office announced Monday.

Perryman went 4-0 on the road with two shutouts last week, tossing 33 innings with 60 strikeouts and only three walks that included two complete extra-inning games. She allowed five runs (1.06 ERA) on the week, four of which came in game two at Missouri S&T, which followed the 12-inning shutout.

In the nine-inning opener at Drury, Perryman tossed the complete-game two-hitter behind 19 strikeouts. She retired the final 22 batters she faced in that contest before going back to the circle for game two for a five-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts, completing the day without issuing a walk or hitting a batter.

In the opener at S&T, the senior recorded her 20th shutout of the year in the 12-inning complete game with 23 strikeouts, tying the fourth most in an NCAA DII game. She scattered five hits - all infield singles – and walked just one. After throwing 194 pitches in that game, the lefty took the field for game two and earned the win in five innings of work, throwing an additional 77 pitches. Of the six hits allowed, only one was for an extra base.

Perryman is now 36-2 on the season and has 445 strikeouts, which is 7th on the NCAA DII single-season charts.

This is the Streamwood, Ill., native's GLVC-best 16th career weekly pitching honor and her fourth selection of the season, winning the first 2016 award on Feb. 15 and then back-to-back March 7 and 14.
