The University of Southern Indiana’s Norman Plummer (Cincinnati, Ohio) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. The senior forward led the Eagles to an 83-60 win over visiting Ferris State on Wednesday.

 

In the Eagles’ 23-point victory over the Great Lakes Region foe, Plummer netted a game and season-high 30 points on 12-for-16 (.750) shooting from the field.

 

He also pulled down nine rebounds and had two steals and an assist. Plummer was 6-for-7 (.857) from the free-throw line.

 

On the year, Plummer is averaging 22.3 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. He also is shooting 70.5 percent from the field (67-95); 40 percent from beyond the three-point arc (3-5); and 71.2 percent from the line (42-59).

 

USI (6-2, 1-0) has won four straight games and will host Michigan Tech on Dec. 30.

 

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Steven Gum, Kentucky Wesleyan’s T.J. Smith, Missouri-St. Louis’ Larricus Brown and SIU Edwardsville’s T.J. Gray.
