Lewis University redshirt-sophomore Dora Andrejszki has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in the sport of women's tennis, the Conference announced Tuesday.
Andrejszki went 6-0 in singles and doubles action last week, helping Lewis to three wins, including two in GLVC play.
The Flyers started the week April 6 with a 5-1 non-conference win at Olivet Nazarene as Andrejszki won 9-7 at No. 1 doubles with partner Nora Mindiyarova before winning a 6-2, 6-4 No. 1 singles decision over Priscila Nunez.
On April 8, the redshirt-sophomore shutout her Saint Joseph's foes, first 8-0 in doubles with Mindiyarova and then 6-0, 6-0 in singles against Clare Kost. Lewis won the match in a 9-0 shutout.
The very next day during a 5-1 win against No. 27 Indianapolis, she took a three-set 7-6, 1-6, 6-2 victory against Hanna Volikova after earning an 8-5 doubles win earlier in the match.
Andrejszki has now won her last 25 matches combined (singles/doubles).
This is the Budapest, Hungary, native's first career weekly honor, and she is the second Flyer chosen this season, as Mindiyarova was the February 23 selection.
