Lewis University sophomore middle distance runner Zoe Mead and William Jewell College senior multi-event specialist Margaret Perko have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women's Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced Wednesday by the conference office.

Mead won the 800 meters at the Chicagoland Championships in 35-degree weather over the weekend in a time of 2 minutes, 11.70 seconds. Her effort currently ranks first in the GLVC and eighth in NCAA Division II.

The Princeton, Illinois native garners the first weekly honor of her outdoor career.
