University of Indianapolis sophomore outfielder Jessie Noone and University of Illinois Springfield freshman pitcher Jaycee Craver were named Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, in the sport of softball, the Conference office announced Monday.

Craver picked up three wins this past weekend, all one-run decisions. She totaled 16.2 innings of shutout ball, throwing two complete-game shutouts in 1-0 victories in the back end of doubleheaders.

She also came in relief with runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out in the first game against Drury and recorded a strikeout and 1-3 groundout to end the inning and keep the game tied at 2-2.

The freshman allowed just 12 baserunners in 16.2 innings, including throwing 2.2 innings in relief against Drury where she allowed none in the outing. She also did not allow a single extra-base hit for the entire week, surrendering just seven singles.

Craver has won seven of her last eight starts – the only loss, a 2-0, 9-inning defeat to UIndy.

This is the Pekin, Ill., native's first career selection, and she is the first Prairie Star to earn a weekly pitching award since 2012 when Heather Gradishar was chosen April 2.
