McSweeney ran an a personal best in the 800 meters this past Friday at the University of Florida’s Tom Jones Invitational. She finished seventh overall with a time of 2 minutes, 11.8 seconds, which currently ranks second in the GLVC and 28th nationally.  The mark is also the nation’s second-best time by a freshman this season.  In addition, McSweeney ran the opening leg on the 4x400-meter relay squad that finished fifth to rank fourth in time within the GLVC.

The Eureka, Illinois native garners the first weekly honor of her outdoor career.

Mendivil dominated the competition in the discus at the Bellarmine Classic this past weekend.  Her effort of 51.24 meters was an NCAA automatic qualifying mark, ranking third nationally and first among all GLVC competitors.

A native of Visalia, California, Mendivil earns her second honor of the season as she was first recognized earlier this month on April 6.
