INDIANAPOLIS – Kentucky Wesleyan College’s Jeff Fahnbulleh (Los Angeles, Calif.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Fahnbulleh, a 6-foot-7 senior forward for the Panthers, recorded double-doubles in wins over GLVC East Division-foes Lewis and UW-Parkside over the weekend.
Kentucky Wesleyan, winners of eight straight games, defeated visiting Lewis on Thursday night, 69-61. Fahnbulleh scored a career-high with 29 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in the victory. He shot 12-for-18 (.667) from the field and also had a season-high three blocked shots.
He returned in the Panthers’ 90-50 win over preseason GLVC East Division favorite UW-Parkside to again net 29 points. Fahnbulleh added 14 rebounds, three assists and finished 11-for-13 (.846) from the field.
For the week, he averaged 29 points and 14 rebounds per game, while shooting 74.2 percent from the field. The double-doubles were his sixth and seventh of the season and 22nd and 23rd of his career.
On the year, Fahnbulleh is averaging 16.4 points and 11 rebounds per game.
Kentucky Wesleyan (13-2, 4-1), currently second in the GLVC East, will next travel to Bellarmine on Thursday.
