Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s Christine Butler (Matteson, IL) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Butler, a senior for SIUE, thrived in the triple jump at the Missouri Invitational for the Cougars. She placed third in the event with a jump of 11.55 meters. The jump places Butler fifth on the NCAA Division II performance list.

SIUE will next be in action on Jan. 19 at the Eastern Illinois University Mega Meet.

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Northern Kentucky’s Julianne Hoekzema.
