The University of Indianapolis’ Willie Little (Chicago, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Little, a senior for the Greyhounds, posted a NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark of 17.52 meters in the 35-pound weight throw at the Indiana Wesleyan University Invitational over the weekend. The mark also established a new Fieldhouse record.
With the effort, Little took first-place in the event at the five-team meet. He surpassed Indiana Wesleyan’s John Bowman by over 1.3 meters to claim victory in the weight throw.
The mark currently ranks Little tenth on the NCAA performance list.
Little and the Greyhounds will return to action at the Findlay Track Classic and Indiana University Gladstein Invitational this weekend.
