University of Wisconsin-Parkside senior distance runner Moriah Palmer and Lewis University sophomore jumper Cierra Pulliam have been respectively named the first Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week of the 2016-17 season, it was announced by the conference office Tuesday.

Team Competition: GVSU Holiday Open (No Team Scoring)
- Placed ninth overall in 5,000 meters in NCAA Provisional qualifying time of 16 minutes, 45.61 seconds
- Effort was fifth-best among collegiate runners and second in Division II field, behind only NCAA DII Cross Country Champion Kendra Foley of Grand Valley State
- Time also broke school record that had stood since 1992
- Third career GLVC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor (2/2/16, 1/22/15)
