McKendree University sophomore sprinter Demontez McCray and University of Indianapolis junior thrower Austin Hogan have been respectively named the first Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week of the 2016-17 season, it was announced by the conference office Tuesday.

Team Competition:  Indianapolis Season Opener (No Team Scoring)

• Won the shot put with an NCAA Provisional throw of 16.92 meters, which ranks first in the GLVC and fifth in NCAA Division II
• Placed first in the 35-pound weight throw with an NCAA Provisional heave of 17.31 meters, good for first in the GLVC and fifth nationally
• First career GLVC Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honor
• Last Indianapolis Indoor Field Athlete of the Week: Vincent Ziraldo (2/24/16)
