University of Southern Indiana sophomore guard Alex Stein has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in men’s basketball, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Team Results: 90-77 win vs. Lake Erie, 74-62 win vs. Ashland

• Averaged team-high 27.5 points in two neutral-site games to open the season
• Rallied USI from 13 down with 28 second-half points, 36 total, against in-region foe Ashland
• Opened his season with 19 points in the win over Lake Erie
• Shot 51.9% from the field (14-27) and was nearly perfect at the line with 92.9% (26-28)
• Added nine assists and eight rebounds
• Earns his first career Player of the Week award
