Quincy University’s Jessica Keller (Belle, Mo./Belle) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Keller, a junior guard for the Lady Hawks, averaged 29 points and 10.5 rebounds per game in two wins last week.
In Quincy’s 92-78 win over visiting Missouri-St. Louis on Thursday, Keller became the first Quincy player to record back-to-back 30-point games. Coming off a 33-point effort last Saturday, she netted a game-high 35 points against the Tritons. In addition, Keller grabbed 12 rebounds and had seven steals and six assists. She was 13-for-17 (.765) from the field and hit both three-point field goal attempts.
Keller returned on Saturday to help the Lady Hawks upset GLVC West Division-leader Missouri S&T, 74-70. She scored seven straight points late in the ballgame to help Quincy erase a 10-point deficit. Keller gave her team the lead on a pair of free throws with 32 seconds to play and secured the win by stealing a Miners’ inbounds pass with 15 seconds remaining. She finished with 23 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals in the victory.
On the week, Keller averaged 29.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 4.5 assists per game. She shot 60 percent from both the field and the three-point line and converted 13-of-20 (.650) free throws.
Keller is averaging 21.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.95 assists, and 3.53 steals per game this season. She leads the league in assists and is ranked second in both scoring and steals per game.
Quincy (13-6, 8-3) pulled into second-place in the GLVC West Division with the victories and has won six of its last seven games. The Lady Hawks will next travel to UW-Parkside on Thursday.
