William Jewell College senior hurdler Blake Alexander and Saint Joseph’s College junior jumper Phil Thompson have been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the Conference office Tuesday.

Team Competition:  Pittsburg State Invitational (No Team Scoring)
 

• Broke his own school record with a winning time of 7.97 seconds, following an effort of 8.16 in the preliminaries
• Winning result marked the fastest in the GLVC this year and fourth nationally among DII hurdlers
• First career GLVC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor
• First ever GLVC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week for William Jewell
