University of Southern Indiana senior distance runner Chase Broughton and University of Indianapolis thrower Austin Hogan have been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the Conference office Wednesday. 

MEN’S INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Sr., Distance, Marengo, Indiana
Team Competition:  Southern Illinois’ Don Denoon Invitational (No Team Scoring)
 

• Won the mile in 4 minutes, 06.97 seconds, outdueling teammate Bastian Grau (2^nd in 4:07.67) over the final 100 meters
• The time converts to 4:03.86 and ranks first in the GLVC and third in NCAA Division II
• First career GLVC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor
• Last Southern Indiana Indoor Field Athlete of the Week: Bastian Grau (1/24/17)
