University of Wisconsin-Parkside senior designated hitter Kyohei Makita and University of Indianapolis senior pitcher Jake Shaw have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week in baseball, it was announced by the Conference office on Monday.

• Pitched 4.0 innings in Friday’s 5-2 victory, striking out seven of his 14 batters faced, while allowing two hits and no walks
• Registered four strikeouts looking and held opposition to just .143 at the plate in first outing
• Added 1.0 inning in Sunday’s 18-4 win, allowing one hit and one walk
• Earns second career Player of the Week award (2/29/16)
